Activities at the campsite
There’s loads to do for all ages at First Camp Sommarvik – Årjäng! On site you’ll find a popular pool area and a fun adventure-golf course. Our rental centre also offers canoes, kayaks, SUPs and bikes for your next mini-adventure. Craving calm? Head to the relaxation area with jacuzzi, steam sauna and a sunny terrace overlooking the lake. You’ll also find several playgrounds and bathing spots, a wood-fired sauna, scenic walking paths and plenty more to discover. Read on for all activities!
Avonturengolf
Challenge the family or your campsite neighbours to a round of adventure golf! Tackle 12 holes past stumps and logs, trolls and mushrooms, through thickets and little caves – you might even spot forest animals on the way.
Opening hours
Open in summer with the same hours as the shop and reception, weather permitting. Last club pick-up is one hour before closing. Welcome!
Houtgestookte sauna
Down by the lake you’ll find our wood-fired sauna with its own jetty. After warming up, plunge into the refreshing water – a cosy treat with friends or family, summer or winter.

Kajakverhuur
Glide across the clear waters of Lake Västra Silen at your own pace! With us, you can rent single, double, and children’s kayaks – perfect for anything from a short paddle along the shoreline to longer adventures among islands and bays.
Kanoverhuur
Pack your picnic basket and discover the calm waters of Lake Västra Silen by canoe! There’s room for the whole family, and the trip can easily be combined with a swim or a break at one of the lake’s many beautiful spots.
Kinderbad
For our smallest campers there’s a heated kids’ pool – a firm favourite with endless splashing! The depth is around 20 cm.
Kinderclub
Spelen, plezier maken en nieuwe campingvriendjes ontmoeten in de Yessi Club!
Tussen week 27 en 32 nodigen we alle kinderen uit voor allerlei leuke kinderclubactiviteiten op de camping. Bij veel activiteiten komt Yessi zelf ook langs om mee te doen.
Alle activiteiten zijn inbegrepen wanneer je een verblijf boekt – simpel en zorgeloos.

Strand & zwemmen
Sun, sand and summer swims await! The beach shelves gently, perfect for both kids and grown-ups to paddle, build sandcastles and soak up the vibe. Free sun loungers are available on the beach.
In summer our inflatable water attractions turn the bay into a floating playground for the whole family.
SUP
Test your balance and enjoy the sense of freedom on a SUP board! Perfect both for a fun time near the beach and for a more relaxing paddle out on the mirror-like water.
Vissen
Cast a line and relax by Lake Västra Silen, one of the largest lakes in the Dalsland Canal system. Its clear waters, minimal development and forested, rocky shores create a true wilderness feel. Västra Silen is well-known for perch and pike, with good chances of salmon and trout too.
On the Sommarvik site, shore and jetty fishing are free – ideal for a spontaneous session. To head out on the lake you’ll need a fishing permit; with 100+ km² of water there’s room for every angling dream. Fishing and conservation permits are available from us.
Wandelroutes
Lace up and hit the trails! Close to Sommarvik you’ll find lit tracks of 10, 16 and 22 km – perfect for anything from a short stroll to a full-day hike. Craving mountain vibes? Try the beautiful forest paths around Orrfjället. For a bigger adventure, head to Glaskogen Nature Reserve: 28,000 hectares of waterways, cosy forests and rich wildlife. You’ll also find shelters and grill spots along the way.
Zwembad
Enjoy refreshing dips with stunning lake views – almost like swimming among the treetops! The pool area features three pools: two for bigger kids/adults, including a 25-metre infinity pool with a retractable glass roof, so you can swim whatever the weather. Water temperature is a comfortable 20–25°C. Little ones have their own kids’ pool – perfect for splashing and first swim strokes.
