Sommarvik – Årjäng

Welcome to First Camp Sommarvik – Årjäng, a five-star campsite in the Värmland forests around Årjäng! On the sunny slope down towards the shimmering Lake Västra Silen you’ll find a true holiday paradise for the whole family. Here, a unique blend of wilderness feel, family-friendly activities and relaxation comes together – all year round.

The campsite is set on terraces, which means many cabins and pitches offer fantastic lake views. Right in the beautiful west-Värmland landscape, this is the place for anyone who wants to mix action-packed days with quiet moments in nature.

There’s always something to do at Sommarvik. In the middle of the site you’ll find the pool area with three pools, including an infinity pool with a magical view of the lake. Prefer sand between your toes? A gently sloping beach awaits, perfect for swimming, sandcastles and long summer days.

Kids can run free on one of the many playgrounds or challenge the family to a round of adventure golf complete with trolls, stumps and caves. To explore even more, hire a canoe, kayak, SUP or bike and head out on an adventure. Västra Silen is a real paradise for paddling and fishing! When it’s time to unwind, enjoy our relaxation area with Jacuzzi and steam sauna, or book the wood-fired sauna by the lake and finish with a refreshing dip straight from the jetty.

Travelling with caravan, motorhome or tent? There are around 300 pitches, several with lake views. You’ll also find plenty of cabins for every party – from simple, beach-close cabins to large, family-friendly cabins sleeping up to 18 guests. Fancy something different? Try our glamping tents – all the charm of camping with an extra touch of luxury and evening sun.

Beyond everything on site, Sommarvik is a perfect base for day trips. Nearby you’ll find hiking trails, cycling paths and the Glaskogen Nature Reserve – 28,000 hectares of lakes, forests and wilderness. With Årjäng just a few minutes away, there’s also plenty of culture, shopping and sights to discover. A warm welcome to your next holiday in the heart of Värmland!

Here you’ll find practical information that’s useful to know about our destination. What applies for Wi-Fi, where is the waste-water dumping station, or the nearest defibrillator? You’ll also find our general house rules for all camping guests so everyone can enjoy their stay.

Opening hours
First Camp Sommarvik – Årjäng is open year-round. Activities, the restaurant and the shop have varying opening hours depending on the season.

Barriers
Open the barrier using the access cards you received at check-in. The barrier is open between 07:00 and 22:00; after that, quiet hours apply across the site to respect your camping neighbors.

Waste & recycling
At First Camp we actively work for a better environment and hope you, as our guest, will do the same. At our recycling stations we sort plastic, aluminium, glass, cardboard and newspapers, among other things. Instructions are posted at each station.

Defibrillator (AED)
A defibrillator is available at reception. In an acute emergency and if you need an ambulance, call 112.

Waste-water/chemical toilet disposal
Check the site map to see where the chemical toilet disposal points are located.

Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available in selected areas of the site. Please note that speeds may be reduced during periods of high usage.

Fire extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are placed throughout the site (see map). Please familiarise yourself with the nearest extinguisher so you can access it quickly if needed.

EV charging
Charging stations are available in the main car park (see map). Payment is made with your access card.

Pet-friendly
We love furry friends, but please keep them on a lead at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the pool area, on the beach, or in the shop or restaurant. A designated dog swimming area is located in the bay south of the boat jetty.

Hot Water in Service Buildings
At Sommarvik, the same hot water solution applies as in previous seasons. You will receive a key card that you can top up yourself, allowing you to decide how much hot water you want to use during your stay. Hot water is available in the service buildings and runs through a central system adapted to the existing pipes and technology on site. The showers are equipped with timers and automatically turn off after a set time. In the kitchens, you’ll find hot water taps for dishwashing and cooking. The pipes may have their limits – but luckily, that doesn’t apply to the memories you create here!

Heating
Heating is controlled via a thermostat in the cabin (not in the Fiskartorp cabin village). If the indoor temperature feels too high, do not open windows or doors, as the thermostat senses incoming air and will automatically increase the heat. Instead, lower the thermostat. If you have any issues with the heating, please contact the reception.
